LA on a losing streak...

Philadelphia v LA

Wednesday, May 15th, 19:30 EDT

It looked like a goalless tie was on the cards in the Windy City until Philly struck in the 75th minute, Jack McInerney's goal crucial at the final whistle.

A word must also go out to goalie Zac MacMath, whose impressive string of saves kept a battling Union in the game for long stretches.

As for LA, they dominated the first half of the clash in Vancouver, only for up-and-coming youngster Russell Teibert to grab a couple and Darren Mattocks to score a third. LA's sole response through Zardes was hardly justified, with the visitors looking shell-shocked from the second the Whitecaps took the lead.

Keep a close eye on Teibert: he's a future star we reckon.

Currently sat uncomfortably in fifth place in the West, LA really have to take something back home with them from this.

A win would stretch the gap between the Union and sixth-placed Columbus to a healthy six points, and pull them to within two of the Impact in fourth.

Plenty to play for: should be good...

Philadelphia are seeking their first home win in almost two months. On the plus side they are coming back home on the back of an impressive if hard-fought 1-0 win at Chicago, and will be hopeful of causing a shock here.

The Galaxy have big headaches right now, and are on a two-game losing streak. The superstar reigning champs had better start producing soon, or the playoffs will be beyond them...
