Bradford v Northampton

Bradford v Northampton

Wembley awaits for Bradford yet again...

NPower League Two Play-Offs Final

Bradford v Northampton

Saturday, 18th May, 13:30 GMT

This will be Bradford's 64th game of an unforgettable season.

All the joys of that famous journey to Wembley, defeating Wigan, Arsenal and Aston Villa, the Cup Final that didn't exactly go to plan, and a League performance that had more ups and downs than Alton Towers.

Today, they meet Northampton, again, in what is a one-off shot for one of these proud old teams to get into England's third tier.

Bradford boss Phil Parkinson has no new injury worries and looks likely to name an unchanged side from the one that took care of Burton Albion in the playoff semi finals.

Aidy Boothroyd, however, has a couple of major concerns going into this crucial clash. Both striker Clive Platt and defender Joe Widdowson look unlikely to figure, one from a back problem the other from a troublesome knee injury.

On paper, the Bantams may appear to hold a magic sign over the Cobblers with regards to recent results and performances. But we all know that when the playoff finals come to town, absolutely anything can happen.

Check it out on Sky Sports One this afternoon: it should be a very entertaining affair.

Key Match Stats

The two teams have already met four times this season, with Bradford coming out narrowly on top three times and drawing the other one. Time for Northampton to get the win that matters most?

Should it go to penalties, the Bantams are unstppable, winning their last nine shootouts on the trot. Impressive.
