West Brom v Man United
Tickets are like gold dust for Sir Alex's Swansong...
West Brom v Man United
Sunday, 19th May, 16:00
The manager who shook the world, let alone Rangers.
After Sunday the Premier League will never be the same again.
Sir Alex Ferguson hangs up his black coat and moves into the world of three piece suits and racing nobility, exchanging the likes of the Hawthornes and Old Trafford for Royal Ascot and York. It is the end of a glittering career in football, and quite possibly the start of a glorious one in horse racing.
Football's loss is very much the sport of Kings' gain...
The match itself should be a wide-open affair, both sides with absolutely nothing to lose.
The Baggies' could conceivably lose 8th place to Swansea, but all that really matters is a top-ten finish, and that has long since been secured. A full ten points off Liverpool in seventh, the Hawthornes crowd will be in a party atmosphere and will be hoping to end the season on a high with yet another surprise scalp.
Not that United will have any intention of allowing that to happen on Fergie's final day.
Away from home United have lost just twice all season - a remarkable achievement - and their 36 away goals scored, as opposed to West Brom's 27 at home puts into sharp perspective just how dominating the Red Devils have been this time around.
We expect a cracker here: the proud old Glaswegian deserves no less...
