Toronto v Columbus
Crew on a two-game losing streak. Toronto on a three...
Toronto v Columbus
May 18th, 17:00 EDT
When the Crew thrashed DC United 3-0 on April 27th, it seemed like Columbus has finally turned the corner.
It was a false dawn.
Losses at New York and at home to Colorado have placed the Crew back in 6th and three points of Philadelphia in a playoff-securing fifth place.
Toronto can only dream of having such problems...
Now down in ninth with just seven points from their opening ten games, the Canadian outfit are finding life very tough this time around.
A single league win - an impressive 2-1 decision over Sporting Kansas City - is the only bright spot in a season that is imploding before their very eyes.
Should they beat the Crew, Toronto would move onto 10 points, and with a run of a couple more wins would still be in the playoff picture. It's a big ask, for sure, but such a resurgence has been done before.
If ever they needed their loud and faithful supporters to get behind them, it's now.
Four ties in a row, followed by a losing streak of three has left Toronto with a mountain to climb. But to climb a mountain, you first have to reach base camp.
Their '12th man' need to help them get there...
