The second meeting this season for the two clubs, both teams are coming from a series of defeats. Previous encounters between the two team have seen both win 10 matches and both score 30 goals, a very even match.
Chivas are coming off a 5 game winless streak after losing to Portland Timbers last Sunday and currently sit in 9th place in the Western Conference.
“We knew it was going to be a tough game and my team played, but it was simply not enough,” said Chivas head coach José Luis “El Chelís” Sánchez Solá.
Kansas are coming off three games on the road, which ended with a loss 3-2 against Montreal at Stade Saputo and currently sit in 3rd place in the Western Conference with 17 points from 12 games. Kansas looked a strong team throughout the game but a goal in the 80th minute from Marco Di Vaio saw the Kansas lose the match.
The last six meetings between the two teams, over the past two seasons, have ended in a shutout.
